About Centro Sraffa

The Centro di Ricerche e Documentazione “Piero Sraffa” is a foundation recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. Created in 1999 on the initiative of the late Pierangelo Garegnani, it is hosted by the Economics Department of the Roma Tre University.

Activities
The Centro Sraffa carries out two main activities: i) gathering bibliographical material; ii) support for research and advanced teaching.
  As regards the former, the centre collects published and unpublished writings relating to Sraffa’s work (including copies of the Sraffa papers at Trinity College, Cambridge), and bibliographical material of a more general character relevant to its aims. Some 600 books out of Piero Sraffa’s huge and precious personal library at Trinity College are now available on microfilm at the centre as a result of collaboration and financial support on the part of the Bank of Italy.
  As regards the latter, the centre:
a) conducts and supports research and advanced teaching in accordance with its aims;
b) organizes seminars, workshops and conferences;
c) arranges visits to the centre for interested scholars;
d) publishes scientific and teaching materials.
